Email marketing content checklist
Published in 25 de octubre de 2013
In the post: “Email
advertising. Know-how!” we highlighted several tips on how to
improve e-mail marketing campaigns. Today we present a checklist to
help you remember about other important factors.
- Is your content interesting and relevant to your customers?
You should already be aware about the importance of dispatching an email marketing campaign to the right segment market. A couple of weeks ago we explained the importance of contact segmentation and gave some tips on how to create an e-mail content. If you are not sure about topics your audience may be interested in, simply test them by using A/B tests. This way, you are going to find out what campaigns are more likely to succeed.
- Is your campaign customized?
Do not forget to mention the recipient's name in your campaigns. If you posses any additional information, do not hesitate to use them too! By doing so, we guarantee that your email marketing campaigns will be more likely to reach your audience than the ordinary ones.
- Is the message clear, organized and correct?
Your campaign is correct if readers can easily understand and read your message. By saying “easily”, we mean when your message cand be understood “within a few seconds”. If your message is not clear and easy to understand you may be sure that your readers will not read the message until the end.
If your goal is to increase sales, your campaign should present products and their prices. If the aim of your campaign is to inform the audience about any specific product/service, the best option is to create a customized promotional letter.
- Does the message highlight the campaign overall goal?
If your campaign goal is to sell something, make sure the message contains some links to that product. In case your goal is to build or maintain a relationship with customers, make sure you dispatch interesting articles with eye-catching titles.
- Are links within your campaign pointing to the right place?
Always make sure that your email campaign links are correct and point to your site or products. You can also consider using URL shortener in the email marketing campaigns to make sure that they are approved by spam authorities (as your message could end up in the Junx Box).
- Did you include the logo of your company?
Do not forget to include a logo so your readers get familiar with the look of your company! Quality logo design means: "Professional" approach to the online business. You should also be aware that a high quality logo helps to sell products/services, increases credibility and helps in business branding.
Always remember that content is king and you have to spend some time on creating interesting email marketing campaigns. Customization, relevant content and right audience are the keys to success. Make sure you always follow the above tips and enjoy the conversion from your audience.
