segurança SPF DKIM

These configurations are important for your Email Marketing campaigns. Today we explain both terms to you.

What is the SPF/SenderID and how does it work?

SPF stands for Sender Policy Framework. It’s a method that allows the owner of the domain to specify which server or servers have the permission to send emails and consequently, the verification of the receiver’s server. In other words, it identifies YOU as the email manager that message and not someone else.

This configuration prevents that other people send emails under your name and that increases the delivery rate of your email marketing campaigns.

The SPF configuration is extremely important for those companies that hire email marketing platforms because it is necessary to authorize those platforms’ servers to send emails under your name (with your own domain).

What is the DKIM/DomainKey and why is it important?

DKIM stands for Domain Keys Identified Mail. It refers to a coded authentication message of the sender that increases the integrity of the email when it arrives in its destination. It’s a public key that connects the email to the Server’s DNS of origin that shows the receiver that the domain is real. This way, the emails are sent with a type of identification and therefore, this also increases the deliverability rate of your email marketing campaigns.

DKIM’s configuration blocks any type of falsification in your domain and assures the integrity of your emails content.

How does it work: Each email includes a digital signature in header of the message. Each signature is unique and cannot be falsified. The server that receives the message searches for the DNS of the remittent and, when the DKIM is configured, the former server receives the public key in order to decipher the digital signature and identify the remittent and the message.

The SPF and DKIM configurations are not mandatory. Nevertheless, they both influence directly the delivery rates of your campaigns. They work as authenticators that classify your message as a Non-SPAM message. Servers such as Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo use these authenticators and therefore, these configurations are essential in order to obtain good results with your email marketing campaigns.

If you already configured these two, CONGRATULATIONS! Your email marketing campaigns are now safe and your emails will be delivered because they are authenticated and trustworthy. If you want to configure them, access EmailManager and go to “Settings” (Top Right Button) and then “Accounts”. The window that opens will show you the accounts that are registered in our platform and the respective statuses.
