Pink October is a campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer that began in the USA in the 90s, where various companies started this campaign in order to educate the public about this health condition.

The main aim of this event is to get people talking about it and educating them about breast cancer issues. Nowadays, Pink October is famous all over the world and many events are organized throughout the world.

The name refers to the rippon color – a campaign symbol.

According to the CDC Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, 211,731 women and 2,001 men in the United States were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 and 40,676 women and 400 men in the United States died from breast cancer.

The event's mission is to raise awareness for breast cancer and alert the public about the risks of the disease as well as the importance of rapid diagnosis.

But, what does it have to do with email marketing?
